A man is in the Marion County Law Enforcement Center as he faces a charge of rape from an incident occurring nearly 3 1/2 years ago. Forty-nine-year-old Travis Wren was booked Saturday and faces additional felony counts of second-degree sexual assault and sexual indecency with a minor.
The probable cause affidavit in the case is currently sealed after Circuit Judge Andrew Bailey granted the motion filed by 14th Judicial District Deputy Prosecuting Attorney John Russo. Online court records indicate the alleged offense occurred July 1, 2021.
Wren has five previous felony cases against him, all resulting in guilty pleas. Most of his prior convictions were for either drugs or theft.
The rape charge is a Class Y felony, the most serious classification of crime in Arkansas not punishable by the death penalty. Wren’s bond is currently set at $100,000.
