A former Arkansas gubernatorial candidate is seeking one of the highest positions in the Democratic National Committee. Chris Jones announced his candidacy for the DNC’s vice chair position during a recent appearance on CNN.

Jones was the Democratic Party’s nominee for Arkansas governor in the 2022 midterm election. He lost the general election to current Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Jones announced his intention Friday on “The Source with Kaitlan Collins.” The DNC’s leadership elections are currently scheduled for Feb. 1.
