Authorities are attempting to determine who may have left several deer hides on another person’s private property. Forsyth Police Chief Patrick Gray posted on the department’s Facebook nearly 100 carcasses were dumped on the property around the Christmas holiday.
Chief Gray says the law restricts the disposal of deer carcasses or hides. A licensed processor is required to dispose of them in a licensed landfill and obtain a receipt.
The Forsyth Police Department and the local conservation agents are investigating the matter. Anyone with information can contact the department at 417-546-4763.
