Baxter County sheriff gives tips on celebrating new year safely

With the end of 2024 and the start of 2025 coming up this week, many are expected to celebrate to bring in the new year. Local authorities are wanting area residents and visitors to enjoy their celebrations in a safe manner.

Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery is reminding everyone who is planning to drink not just on New Year’s Eve but any day of the year that they should get a designated driver to get home safely. In addition, Sheriff Montgomery says those observing others they believe may be getting ready to drive after consuming alcohol should say something or take action.
