Michael O’Meara, a witty and thoughtful soul with a natural gift for storytelling, passed away on December 18th, 2024. Born on October 26, 1956, Michael’s life was shaped by his unique childhood as an Air Force brat. He (and siblings Jim and Trish) lived in places like Okinawa, France, Greece, and Switzerland, experiences that enriched him and left him with a deep cultural appreciation that captivated everyone around him.

Mike had a passion for blues and classic rock music, often introducing others to lesser-known artists and sharing his impeccable taste. Whether reminiscing about funny moments from his past or offering clever observations, he was always ready for a fascinating conversation. He loved spending time on the water, whether camping, boating, or water skiing on Norfork Lake-a passion he passed down to his sons (Sean, Ryan, and Tommy), who now continue his love for the water. A fanatic for driving sporty muscle cars and fast motorcycles, Mike also cherished slowing down for BBQ gatherings and Razorback watch parties with his sons and grandkids.

Known for his humor, wit, and the meaningful connections he made, Mike touched the lives of everyone he met. A Gathering of Family and Friends for Mike will be 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel – Mountain Home, Arkansas, where family and friends will honor the remarkable man who brought people together with his intelligence, humor, and big heart.

Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services – Mountain Home, Arkansas.
