The Yellville-Summit High School girls’ basketball team finished third in the Bank OZK Classic Monday at Ozark. The Lady Panthers concluded their run in the tournament by getting past County Line 42-38.
The Gainesville Lady Bulldog Holiday Tournament came to an end on Monday. Bakersfield finished third with a 57-47 victory over Bradleyville. Gainesville took the consolation game over Cabool 45-34. Seymour won the championship game over Mansfield 51-41.
Gainesville’s boys lost their finale in the Cabool Holiday Tournament. The Bulldogs fell to Plato by a final of 52-47.
The Izard County girls were eliminated from the NEA Tournament at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. The Lady Cougars were edged out by Sloan-Hendrix 47-45 in the Division II semifinals.
A few area teams competed on the final day of the North Arkansas College High School Pioneer Classic at Harrison. On the girls’ side, Rural Special defeated Clinton 66-59, and Ozark Mountain topped Concord 57-41. In the boys’ games, Rural Special lost to Ozark Mountain 62-52, and Lead Hill fell to Rogers 64-52.
