As we move into the weekend, a small chance for winter weather remains Sunday night. Meteorologist Jeff Hood from the National Weather Service office in North Little Rock says the Twin Lakes Area is just on the south edge of any snowfall expected to move in.

HOOD: The greater impacts are going to be well north of the area across portions of central Missouri and well to the west and east of that corridor. We’re close enough to kind of be in the game, so to speak. Low chances for a little bit of freezing rain. That threat has kind of diminished over the last 12 to 24 hours. Looking at very minor if any type of freezing rain accumulation. What we’re looking at from Sunday night into Monday morning is the chance for some light snow across the area. And again, just to reiterate, most of that heavy snow is going to remain well to the north, but across the state line, southern Missouri, northern Arkansas, we could be looking at some light accumulation Sunday night and into Monday morning, wrapping up by 6 or 7 Monday morning. Totals so far look to be less than an inch, and even more zoomed in, it looks like even less than a half inch in most locations. So, big story is going to be major cold air coming in with a little bit of light snow with this system into Monday morning.

A winter weather advisory will be in effect for Howell and Douglas counties in southern Missouri from 6 Saturday evening through 6 Monday morning. Tune in to KTLO, Classic Hits 101.7 and 99.7 The Boot for the latest winter weather coverage.
