Models are beginning to show increased probability of wide spread snow fall late Thursday into Friday as a winter system moves through the region, according to the National Weather Service.Meteorologist Lance Pyle spoke with KTLO News Tuesday morning and said snowfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are likely, with snow beginning Thursday night and continuing into Friday afternoon or evening.
Several inches of snow could be possible, Pyle noted, highlighting the potential for accumulation that could impact travel across the region.
Temperatures will remain bitterly cold, with daytime highs in the 30s and overnight lows in the teens to low 20s. A slight warm-up is forecast over the weekend, with highs reaching the low 40s by Sunday.
