The Arkansas Activities Association announced its regional and state tournament sites on Thursday, and six area schools ended up with winning bids.
Cotter was awarded a volleyball tournament to be held in October. The Lady Warriors will be the host team of the Class 2A East Regional Tournament.
Three area schools were awarded baseball and softball tournaments scheduled for May. Norfork is the host school for the Class 1A Region 1 Tournaments, Ozark Mountain is the designated host for the Class 2A Region 1 Tournaments, and Jasper will be the host of the Class 1A State Tournaments.
Two area schools won their bids for basketball tournaments. Melbourne will be the site of the Class 3A Region 2 Tournament Feb. 26 through March 1. Valley Springs will be the designated host of the Class 3A State Tournament with the games scheduled for March 4-8 on the south campus of North Arkansas College in Harrison.
