After coming out of a nearly hour-and-a-half executive session, one of the board members moved to have Allyson Dewey’s contract extended, and the board unanimously agreed. Dewey’s contract will run through June 30, 2028.

The board also agreed to allow Dewey to sell a piece of land in Gamaliel. The parcel, located off Arkansas Highway 101, was donated by the district to the Gamaliel Community Club in 1989, but the LLC has since dissolved. The abandoned property was reverted back to the district, and Dewey says she plans to put it up for auction.

Another matter brought before the board was its professional learning communities. The board was asked to approve $26,000 from the district’s professional learning community grant for four additional days of on-site professional development for the current semester and the summer. The board unanimously agreed.

The board also unanimously approved of all personnel matters during its executive session. Click here for the personnel report.
