The Mountain Home Bomber junior high basketball teams were in action Thursday evening, with games both at home and on the road. Three teams hosted Douglas MacArthur at the junior high gym, while the 7th-grade teams traveled to Yellville to face the Yellville-Summit Panthers.The 8th-grade girls opened the night with a hard-fought 15-13 victory over Douglas MacArthur, showcasing strong defense. The Girls Freshman team followed but fell short, losing 14-23. The Boys Freshman team wrapped up the home games with a 22-31 loss.
Meanwhile, in Yellville, the 7th-grade Bombers battled the Panthers in several games. The Junior Varsity girls earned a 22-12 victory, led by standout scorers Nicola Talbot, who contributed 6 points, and Sophia Kaminski, who added 5. The Varsity girls extended the Bombers success with a commanding 29-7 win. Samira Gassama scored 8 points, while Ryleigh Applegate added 5 to the dominant performance.
The 7th-grade boys faced tough competition from Yellville-Summit, with the Junior Varsity team falling 29-42 despite a strong effort.
