Gilbert recaps Farmers and Merchants Bank winning Bob Knight Spirit Award for Mountain Home

Representatives of Farmers and Merchants Bank with the Bob Knight Spirit for Mountain Home Award

It’s been nearly a week-and-a-half since Farmers and Merchants Bank was among the honorees at the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet and membership meeting. The local bank was awarded the Bob Knight Spirit Award for Mountain Home, given to the individual or entity acting as an ambassador to the Twin Lakes Area and continuously promoting the community.

Farmers and Merchants Bank Market President Sally Gilbert says she and the rest of the team were honored to receive the award named after the late Bob Knight.

Gilbert says she and others at the bank have made it a mission to put the local community first in everything they do.

Gilbert has been with Farmers and Merchants for more than three years, but she has been in the banking business since 1994. She says there has been a lot of changes in the financial industry, especially with technology, but relationships are still at the heart of the business.

Farmers and Merchants Bank has had several projects to stay active in the community, including its monthly Coffee Talk program. Gilbert says another project they’re proud of is the Farm to Fork partnership with the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas.

Farmers and Merchants Bank received its award Jan. 17 at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center on the campus of Arkansas State University-Mountain Home.
