
Firing shots at two people from his truck and selling drugs to a confidential informant has led to the arrest of a man in Izard County. Facing six felony charges in the two separate cases is 22-year-old Joseph Ray Horn of Evening Shade.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Izard County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened the evening of July 23 near the Sonic in Melbourne. The victims, a male and female, told deputies they were walking along the highway when Horn drove by, yelled a derogatory slur to the male victim and then fired two shots from a hand gun.
Horn later admitted to the confidential informant he shot at the two victims. It was noted in the affidavit that while discussing the specifics of the shooting incident, Horn had a big smile on his face.
Horn is also accused of selling methamphetamine to the informant.
Horn is facing two counts each of second degree unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle and aggravated assault along with one count each of delivery of methamphetamine and unauthorized use of another persons property to facilitate certain crimes, all felonies. He is being held in the Izard County Detention Center on bonds totaling $100,000.
