Cotter ended up splitting four basketball games Tuesday at Tuckerman. The Warriors fell in the senior boys’ game to the Bulldogs 48-31. Cotter did not fare any better in the senior girls’ contest as they lost to Tuckerman 54-36. Cotter was able to defeat Tuckerman in the junior boys’ game 43-29. The evening began with Cotter’s junior girls beating Tuckerman 36-19.
The Norfork High School teams had a rough night as they went to Fox and got swept by Rural Special. The Panthers fell to the Rebels 71-44 in the boys’ game. Norfork also lost the girls’ contest 51-27.
Flippin had mixed results in its Senior Night games with Mountain View. The Bobcats topped the Yellowjackets in the boys’ game 49-38. Flippin was not as fortunate in the girls’ contest as they fell to Mountain View 66-23.
The Yellville-Summit High School ended up getting swept on their home floor by Valley Springs.
The Panthers came up a little bit short in the boys’ game. Yellville-Summit lost to the Tigers 52-44.
The girls’ contest ended with Yellville-Summit falling to Valley Springs 54-19. Macy Willis led the Lady Tigers with 15 points, and Raylee Rodman added 11. Valley Springs improves to 24-6 on the season and 6-3 in the 3A-2.
Viola split its high school games at Calico Rock.
The Lady Longhorns were able to defeat the Lady Pirates 50-38. Viola was led by Taylor Richardson with 17 points, and Cheyenne Newberry chipped in 11. The Lady Longhorns are now 17-13 overall and 7-5 in the 1A-2.
Viola had a different result in the boys’ game. The Longhorns lost to Calico Rock 78-47.
Bakersfield’s boys were able to advance to the semifinals of the Big Springs Conference Tournament at Summersville. The top-seeded Lions beat Dora 80-44.
The Gainesville boys lost their opener in the Sparta Trojans Tournament. The Bulldogs fell to Crocker 71-58.
Salem ended up splitting its high school games with Bergman. The Lady Greyhounds got past the Lady Panthers 45-39. It was a different result in the boys’ game as Salme fell to Bergman 55-29.
Izard County was able to come away with a four-game sweep at Mammoth Spring.
The Cougars took the senior boys’ game over the Bears 62-48. Gabe Spray was Izard County’s top scorer with 20 points, Cash Arnhart had 18, Kade Yancey provided 12, and Kasen Black recorded 10. The Cougars improve to 18-9 on the year and 10-1 in the 2A-2.
Izard County also captured the senior girls’ game over Mammoth Spring 55-43. Quinn Johnson paced the Lady Cougars with 16 points, and Olivia Spray and Tinlee Bailey each scored 10. Izard County is now 18-4 on the season and 10-1 in the league.
In the junior boys’ game, Izard County topped Mammoth Spring 61-25. The Junior Cougars were led by Benaiah Spray with 20 points, Kane Johnson finished with 16, and Brody Cottrell ended up with 10. Izard County is now 11-6 on the season and 7-4 in conference play.
The night started with Izard County’s junior girls beating Mammoth Spring 48-34. Kallie Skidmore was the Junior Lady Cougars’ leading scorer with 13 points, and Willa Everett added 11. Izard County’s record is now 15-2 overall and 10-1 in the 2A-2.
Melbourne picked up a sweep in its high school games at Cave City. The mercy rule was invoked in the girls’ game as the Lady Bearkatz doubled up the Cavewomen 62-31. The Melbourne boys followed with a 56-36 victory over Cave City.
Marshall was swept in its high school games against Sloan-Hendrix at Imboden. The Bobcats lost the boys’ game to the Greyhounds 65-54. Marshall’s girls also fell to Sloan-Hendrix 66-49.
Lead Hill hosted Omaha for its Senior Night games on Tuesday.
The Tigers won the senior boys’ game over the Eagles 83-45. Noah Royce led Lead Hill with 23 points, Kaden Baker’s 15 points included him getting 1,000 career points on a dunk, Nolan Turner scored 11 points, and Dawson Lively dished out 13 assits. Noah Morrison had 15 points for Omaha.
The night did not go as well for the Lead Hill senior girls. The Lady Tigers lost to Omaha 57-23.
Lead Hill’s junior boys topped Omaha 46-24. The Junior Tigers were led by Tucker Middleton with 18 points, and Garrett Richardson chipped in 13. Ryder Lawson provided 10 points for the Junior Eagles.
Harrison was able to pull off a sweep over Greenwood. The Lady Goblins upset the Lady Bulldogs 55-52. Harrison also took the boys’ game 77-65.
Ozark Mountain came away with a sweep of its high school games at Alpena. The Bears won the boys’ game over the Leopards 62-45. Ozark Mountain also won the girls’ game 61-47.
Jasper won its boys’ games over Founders Classical Academy. The Pirates breezed past the Spartans in the senior high game 73-51. Jasper put the mercy rule in effect in the junior high contest as they pounded Founders Classical 67-29.
