An area junior high Quiz Bowl team was able to claim the title of regional champions over the weekend. Izard County won the Class 2A North Regional Tournament on Saturday.
The Junior Cougars, coached by Charles Treat, finished the tournament with a record of 5-0. Evan Cole was named the most valuable player, and he was joined by Ian Bear on the All-Tournament team.
Izard County will be in Harrison on Feb. 15 for the Class 2A State Tournament.
