Prior to moving through the agenda, the Baxter County Quorum Court heard from five individuals interested in serving on the newly formed Baxter County Airport Advisory Board. Bob Harris, Kevin Linck, Mark Bertel, James Strecker, and Kevin Crawford introduced themselves to the Court, but no action was taken.

During regular business, the court heard a second reading of an ordinance establishing a 911 Advisory Board.

Two appropriation ordinances were approved for the Sheriff’s Office. One moves $8,424 in fees collected in December to the 2025 budget. The other allocates $54,000 from special jail fees and $10,000 from the detention facility fund to cover jail maintenance and operations.

The court also amended the 2025 budget to account for airport revenue and grant funds.

After audience questions about doing business with a court member, the court passed an ordinance allowing transactions with General Water Conditioning, owned by Justice of the Peace Lisa House. County Treasurer Jenay Mize noted the company has received $2,000 from the 10th District Court since 2015.

The court confirmed Scott Tavegia to the Baxter County Library Board, Colby Pickens to the Planning Board, and reappointed Lindley Reuben and Gary Smith to the Grover Township Fire Board. Tom Telford and Jim Jestadt were also reappointed to the Northeast Lakeside Fire Board.
