A former Pike County deputy, 40-year-old Brandon Vines of Glenwood, is facing charges after Arkansas State Police (ASP) investigators discovered evidence that he had pawned two weapons from the sheriff’s department.

According to ASP investigators, Vines failed to return his department-issued Mossberg 590 shotgun and Colt M-16 rifle to the department after his termination in December 2024. In January 2025, at the request of the Pike County sheriff, the ASP launched an investigation and confirmed that the firearms had been pawned.

On January 31, ASP agents obtained an arrest warrant for Vines. He turned himself in at the Pike County Detention Center on February 3, 2025, where he made his first court appearance. Both firearms have since been recovered.

Vines is facing a felony charge of firearm theft. The former deputy plead not guilty and was given a bond of $10,000.
