A Gassville woman has been arrested after allegedly threatening a man with a firearm while children were present. Thirty-nine-year-old Catrina Christine Davis is faceing multiple charges including possession of a firearm, endangering the welfare of a minor, aggravated assault, terroristic threatening and disorderly conduct.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on Feb. 2, deputies with the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a heavily intoxicated woman firing a gun inside a residence with children present. Upon arrival, Davis opened the door, stumbled outside, and stated, ““I did it, I shot the gun.”” Deputies detected the odor of alcohol on her and had to assist her several times to keep her balance.

Davis told deputies she was a felon and had recently completed probation. She admitted to firing the gun following an argument with the victim, who was inside the residence. Deputies informed her she would be detained but was not being placed under arrest at that time.

Inside the home, deputies found the victim in a bedroom off the living room with three children who were crying and visibly distressed. The victim told deputies that Davis, after drinking, grabbed his 9mm pistol from a bookshelf and initially held it to her own head, stating she was going to shoot herself. When he tried to intervene, she fired a round into the ceiling before allegedly sticking the barrel of the gun in his mouth and threatening to kill everyone present.

The victim said all three children were awake and aware of the incident. One of them called 911 after the gun was discharged. A witness who was not at the residence also recorded what was happening over the phone.

Before deputies arrived, Davis allegedly removed the magazine from the firearm and threw the gun toward the master bedroom. Deputies later recovered the weapon and confirmed that while the magazine had been removed, a live round remained in the chamber. They also found a bullet hole in the ceiling.

Davis was arrested and transported to the Baxter County Detention Center. She is facing one felony count of possession of firearm, three felony counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, a felony count of aggravated assault, four felony counts of terroristic threatening and a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. She was released after posting a $25,000 bond.
