Two convenience store employees arrested for using store money to steal Bitcoin from machine

Two convenience store employees in Fulton County have been arrested for using money from the store to purchase Bitcoin from a machine inside the store. Charged in the theft are 41-year-old Dennis C. Kemp and 52-year-old Elizabeth Jane Austin, both of the Glencoe area.According to court documents in the case and information from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, the Bitcoin machine was located inside the store where the two worked. The store manager told deputies the two had broken into the machine.

Video evidence shows Kemp drilling the lock on the machine. The two then used money from the register and the store safe to purchase $13,000 in Bitcoin. The same money was fed through the machine multiple times.

Both Kemp and Austin are charged with theft of property and breaking or entering. Austin and Kemp are free free after posting a $15,000 bond.
