
A Boone County man is facing charges in connection to two theft incidents on the same day. Thirty-four-year-old Travis Woolsey has been charged with two felony counts of theft of property.
According to a probable cause affidavit, surveillance footage from October 27 shows Woolsey at the Walmart in Harrison, filling a cart with merchandise and scanning items at self-checkout. He was seen watching the self-checkout host before inserting his card upside down into the reader. When asked to show proof of purchase, Woolsey ran from the store, loaded the items into his vehicle, and drove off. The stolen merchandise was valued at $391.50.
Later that day, Harrison police responded to a theft report at Tractor Supply. An employee said Woolsey requested assistance purchasing a DeWalt drill and impact set, which was locked in a cabinet. After the employee escorted him to the register, Woolsey allegedly attempted to pay but had his card declined. He then grabbed the merchandiseworth $382.96and fled.
Woolsey is facing two felony counts of theft of property for the incidents. He has been convicted of theft of property multiple time in the past, with his most recent conviction being in 2018. Woolsey was released on a $10,000 bond.
