A Gamaliel man is accused of attacking three individuals at a residence, including a juvenile. Twenty-year-old Dominick Kersey is in the Baxter County Detention Center facing charges of third-degree assault on a family or household member and third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor.
According to the incident report, a pair of Baxter County deputies were dispatched Feb. 4 to a residence on Sarazan Place near Gamaliel on a report of a domestic incident. While en route, they were advised the suspect, identified as Kersey, was outside the residence and caused damage to the front door, preventing those inside from leaving.
Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with the female caller, a juvenile and another individual from a front window. One of the deputies observed a shoe wedged in the front door, preventing it from being opened.
The caller alleges Kersey “lost control” over his missing phone and attacked her, the juvenile and the other individual. Kersey had reportedly wrapped his arms around the juvenile and threw the child around, and the caller had recorded the incident on her phone.
Deputies later located Kersey underneath a recreational vehicle on the neighbor’s property. He reportedly claimed he was playing hide and seek, but he eventually followed commands to come out from under the RV. When Kersey was handcuffed, he denied doing anything and said he wanted to be transported to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
Bond for Kersey is set at $1,100.
