Friday basketball results include Cotter splitting with Lead Hill

The Cotter High School basketball teams split their final games of the regular season with Lead Hill on Friday.
The Lady Warriors will go into the postseason on a winning note. Cotter beat the Lady Tigers by final of 61-26.
Cotter did not fare as well in the boys’ game as they lost to Lead Hill 74-56. Noah Royce was the Tigers’ top scorer with 17 points, Kaden Baker finished with 16, Nolan Turner ended up with 15 points and 10 Rebounds, Brett Arnold added 13 points, and Dawson Lively dished out 12 assists.

Gainesville’s boys picked up a win on their home floor. The Bulldogs topped Mansfield by a score of 56-44.

Salem ended up getting swept at Valley Springs. The Lady Greyhounds were edged out by the Lady Tigers 35-34. Salem also lost the boys’ game to Valley Springs 64-38.

Izard County was able to pull off a sweep over Rivercrest.
Gabe Spray’s basket with 17 seconds remaining pushed the Cougars past the Colts 51-50 in the boys’ game. Cash Arnhart paced Izard County with 19 points, and Spray and Sebastian Robbins each chipped in 12. The Cougars improve to 21-9 on the season.
The girls’ contest was more lopsided as Izard County breezed past Rivercrest 61-40. The Lady Cougars were led by Makensie Yancey with 20 points, and Olivia Spray scored 15. Izard County is now 23-4 on the year.

The Dora boys had a rough night in front of the home crowd. The Falcons ended up losing to Summersville 50-43.

Mammoth Spring’s girls came out on the losing end of a road trip. The Lady Bears went to Lake City and fell to Riverside 55-30.

Melbourne ended up sweeping Buffalo Island Central. The Lady Bearkatz invoked the mercy rule as they routed the Lady Mustangs 69-29. Melbourne also took the boys’ game over BIC 55-44.

Marshall suffered a sweep at the hands of Bigelow. The Bobcats lost the boys’ game to the Panthers 61-57. Marshall’s girls also fell to Bigelow 62-45.

Timbo was swept by Ozark Mountain at Western Grove. The Tigers lost the boys’ game to the Bears 58-33. Timbo also fell to Ozark Mountain in the girls’ contest 62-36.

Bergman put the mercy rule in effect in both wins at Rose Bud. The Lady Panthers destroyed the Lady Ramblers 70-26. Bergman nearly doubled up Rose Bud 74-38 in the boys’ game.
