On Monday, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders declared a state of emergency as the state braces for a winter storm expected to impact Arkansas on Tuesday. The storm is predicted to bring a combination of snow, sleet, and freezing rain, with many areas Arkansas likely to experience hazardous road conditions due to a mix of sleet and snow. By Thursday, temperatures are expected to plummet into the teens and single digits leaving little chance for much of the wintry conditions to melt off.

The state of emergency will remain in effect until February 24 unless it is either extended or terminated earlier. According to the National Weather Service, up to eight inches of snowfall could impact the Twin Lakes area.
