
The Cotter Public Schools Board of Education met Monday night, approving several key items, including new hires and facility improvements.
The board voted to employ First Security Beardsley as its financial advisor for three years and appointed Aliza Jones as facility coordinator for a two-year term beginning July 1. Members also approved a $32,980 contract with Gym Masters to refurbish the school’s gym floor and a $62,981 technology purchase from Howard Technology Solutions.
The board renewed its workers’ compensation insurance and approved adding fuel tanks for district use. Additionally, Superintendent Jones recommended and received board approval to renew the contracts of Elementary Principal Airl Cheek and High School Principal Jarrod Jefferson.
Student enrollment currently stands at 698, with 377 in elementary and 321 in high school. The meeting adjourned at 9:11 p.m.
