Snow has begun to land here in the Twin Lakes area and road crews are at the ready to take on the conditions for the residents of Mountain Home.
KTLO’s Michael Lee spoke with Mountain Home Mayor Hillrey Adams to see how the city has prepared for this wintry surge and he says all their equipment is fueled up and inspected as the crews get ready to work until the roads are safe for residents.

Michael Lee:
Joining me on the phone, I have Mountain Home Mayor Hillary Adams. Mayor, how are you doing this morning?
Mayor Hillrey Adams:
We’re doing wonderful today. Beautiful day as always, as usual. Absolutely beautiful, and that snow has started coming down.
Lee:
Mayor, what the people want to know is how has Mountain Home prepared for this snow?
Adams:
Well, you know, we’ve been getting the equipment ready. We’ve got all of our stuff that we use to take the snow off the streets ready. Everything’s fueled up, all equipment’s been checked to make sure it’s working.
And we will go to our usual process of 12-hour shifts, probably late tonight sometime and we’ll split our crews in half, basically is what we do, and we work 1- hour shifts until we get ahead of the game and get it where it’s safe for everybody to get around. And we’re ready to go just as soon as we get enough out there to start to work on.
Lee:
Absolutely. And Mayor, what could the people do to help out road crews as they’re working through these conditions?
Adams:
Stay home. That’s the best thing to do. And stay outta everybody’s way. Get stocked up on whatever you need and stay home for the next couple days and give us a chance to do what we need to do to get the roads in as good of shape as we can.
Lee:
Absolutely. Well, Mayor, I appreciate you. You stay warm out there.
Adams:
Alright, thank you.
