A significant winter storm is set to impact the Twin Lakes region Tuesday, with snowfall expected to reach 6 to 10 inches, and some areas along the Arkansas-Missouri border possibly receiving up to a foot. The National Weather Service warns of treacherous travel conditions through early Wednesday morning as Arctic air surges into the area.Snowfall rates may exceed 1-2 inches per hour at times, reducing visibility and creating hazardous road conditions, especially on bridges and overpasses. Northern winds will accompany the storm, adding to the winter hazards.

Following the snowfall, bitterly cold temperatures will settle into the region, with single-digit lows and wind chills as low as -10 expected by Wednesday morning. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect, urging residents to prepare for dangerously cold conditions.

Travel is strongly discouraged during the height of the storm. Those who must be out should use extreme caution and stay updated on the latest weather alerts.
