
The Arkansas political community is paying tribute to former Governor Jim Guy Tucker, who passed away on February 13 at the age of 81. Tucker, the 43rd governor of Arkansas, will lie in state in the Arkansas Capitols second-floor rotunda for public viewing on Friday, February 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In honor of Tucker, current Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued an executive order on February 18, 2025, directing flags to fly at half-staff from February 19 to February 24
A celebration of life for Tucker is scheduled for 2 p.m. on February 24, 2025, at the Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, located at 600 Pleasant Valley Drive. He will be laid to rest at Mount Holley Cemetery in Little Rock.
Tucker served as lieutenant governor under Bill Clinton before becoming governor and was succeeded by Mike Huckabee, the father of the current governor, Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
