A second candidate has announced plans to run for the Mountain Home Public Schools Board of Education.
Tommy Knight announced Friday that he will seek Position 2, a seat currently held by Neal Pendergrass, whose term expires in 2025.
Knight, a lifelong Mountain Home resident, graduated with the Class of 1973. He has been a Medicare health insurance agent for 17 years and was a founding board member of Top Flight Basketball. He currently serves as president of the Fairview Cemetery Association of Buford and is an active member of First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home.
In 2024, Knight was awarded the Bob Knight Bomber Spirit Award during the Mountain Home Education Foundation Hall of Honors. He says, “My children are alumni of MHHS and all of my grandchildren already are or will attend the MHPS district. The future of our school system has always, and will always, be important to me and my family!”
