Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton announced Thursday that he will seek re-election to the United States Senate in 2026.

Cotton, who has represented Arkansas in the Senate since 2015, shared the news in a social media post, stating that he was launching his campaign “with the support of every Arkansas statewide official, the entire Arkansas congressional delegation, and 108 out of 110 of Arkansas’ Republican State Legislators.”

Following Cotton’s announcement, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders expressed her endorsement of the senator.

“Senator Tom Cotton is a patriot who fights every day to keep our country safe and free. He puts Arkansas and America first in everything he does. He is a strong ally of President Trump’s and we need him representing us in the United States Senate,” Sanders said.

Cotton currently serves as chairman of both the Senate Intelligence Committee and the Senate Republican Conference, holding the third-ranking position in GOP leadership.

In his 2020 re-election campaign, Cotton defeated Libertarian candidate Ricky Dale Harrington with 66 percent of the vote, with no Democratic challenger in the race.

Before his time in the Senate, Cotton served as the U.S. Representative for Arkansas’s 4th Congressional District from 2013 to 2015.

“I’m going to keep fighting to secure our border, lower prices, keep America safe, and reverse the damage the Democrats did to our country,” Cotton said in his announcement.
