High school basketball makes up much of the local Saturday schedule as regional tournaments come to an end in Arkansas.
The Class 3A Region 2 Tournament will conclude at Melbourne. The third place girls’ game between Mountain View and Bergman tips off at noon, and Flippin’s boys meet Osceola at 1:30. Both of the host teams will compete in the championship games in the evening as the Lady Bearkatz face Manila at 6, and the Melbourne boys take on Bergman at 7:30.
Both of Izard County’s teams return to Riverside High School in Lake City for the title games of the Class 2A Region 2 Tournament. The Lady Cougars play the host Lady Rebels at 6, and the Izard County boys will be paired with Cedar Ridge at 7:30.
Rural Special’s girls will compete for third place in the Class 1A Region 2 Tournament at West Side High School in Greers Ferry. The Lady Rebels meet Marked Tree at noon.
Three area teams will conclude action in the Class 1A Region 1 Tournament at Magazine. The Lead Hill boys face Mulberry for third place at 1:30. Both of Jasper’s teams will be in the finals as the Lady Pirates get underway with Scranton at 6, and the boys take on County Line at 7:30.
Both of Ozark Mountain’s teams will be in the third place games of the Class 2A Region 1 Tournament at Hackett. The Lady Bears play Alpena at noon, and the Ozark Mountain boys will be matched up with Hector at 1:30.
