ASUMH gets 2 wins at Babe Howard JUCO Classic

The ASU-Mountain Home baseball team was able to pick up a pair of wins Saturday in the Babe Howard JUCO Classic in Millington, Tenn.

The TrailBlazers began with an 8-5 victory over Mississippi Delta. Chase Plowman, Spencer Mounce and Reece Bariola delivered clutch hitting in the seventh inning, and ASU-Mountain Home got some late insurance runs off an RBI single by Jackson Crain and a sacrifice fly by Mounce. Nicholas Patterson threw 1 2/3 relief innings with three strikeouts.

The TrailBlazers followed with a 9-2 win over the College of DuPage. Ckyler Tengler pitched seven innings with nine strikeouts and three hits. Yadiel Canales was 3-for-4 with a solo home run in the sixth inning. ASU-Mountain Home ended up with a seven-run sixth as they also had home runs from Christan Loera and Mounce.

The TrailBlazers improve to 8-7 on the season, and they’ll travel to Clarksdale, Miss., on Friday to meet Coahome.
