The Mountain Home Bombers baseball team opened their season with a narrow 3-2 victory over Southside Batesville on Monday at McClain Park.
The Bombers scored three runs on three hits, while Southside Batesville managed two runs on three hits but committed one error.
Aidan Shrable earned the win in relief, striking out four over 1 1/3 innings of scoreless work. Mountain Homes pitching staff combined for 11 strikeouts, with Koen Bickford, the starting pitcher, fanning four and Brantlee Phillips adding three.
Cam Foree took the loss for Southside, surrendering all three of Mountain Homes runs while striking out six.
The Bombers will return to action on Thursday when they host Fort Smith Southside at 4:30 p.m.
