More than 200 high school seniors from 27 schools across the region visited the ASU-Mountain Home campus Tuesday morning for the Be Pro Be Proud Draft Day.
Students had the chance to meet with area businesses, explore career opportunities, experience hands-on simulators, and interview with potential employers. Around 100 students were expected to receive job offers.
Students interacted with employers in healthcare, construction, welding, HVAC, plumbing, and other fields. Those participating in interviews were required to complete a prep course covering resume writing, professional dress, and interview etiquette.

Andrew Parker, executive director of Be Pro Be Proud, says the mobile program was launched by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce in 2016. It started with a custom-built semi-trailer equipped with simulators, allowing students to explore high-demand careers across the state.
