Davis began his law-enforcement career with the Forrest City Police Department in 1991. During the last 16 years he was in Forrest City, he was a deputy in the St. Francis County Sheriff’s Office.

Davis and his family started visiting the Twin Lakes Area on vacation in 2004, and nearly six years later, they moved to Baxter County permanantly. He began working for the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office in 2011 as a patrol deputy and eventually worked his way up to being a member of the command staff. Sheriff Montgomery says he believes Davis is the next logical choice.

Davis says Forrest City was more of a high-crime area, and that’s something he doesn’t want to see in Baxter County. He says he doesn’t plan on changing what the sheriff’s office has going, but he would like to improve on it.

Davis says he doesn’t believe he will ever be able to “fill Montgomery’s shoes,” but he hopes to take the lessons learned under the sheriff’s direction.
