More details have been released on the airplane crash at the airstrip at Gaston’s Resort along the White River Thursday afternoon. The two occupants, 75-year-old Roscoe Leroy Griffin and 58-year-old Karen Sue Griffin, both of Hartville, Missouri, were not injured in the crash.

According to the incident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, Roscoe Griffin was piloting the plane and reported as he was attempting to land the winds shifted and the plane dropped off a few feet above the ground. He said he tried to give it more throttle to recover, but it was too late. The plane slid approximately 75-100 feet before coming to rest.

The aircraft is a 1960 Cessna 175A Skylark.
