
The woman who was the subject of the Silver Alert Wednesday morning in Fulton County was arrested later in the day following a family dispute. Seventy-nine-year-old Virginia F. Clem is being held in the Fulton County Jail.Clem was the subject of a Silver Alert issued by the Salem Police Department at 12:30 Wednesday morning after she was reported missing. The Silver Alert was inactivated at 8:50 Wednesday morning after she was found.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Fulton County Sheriffs Office, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Arkansas State Highway 223 South Wednesday afternoon for a dispute between Clem and her granddaughter.
According to statements and witnesses on the scene, Clem arrived at the victims house and began yelling at her. The victim would not come outside, so Clem started throwing rocks at the house, breaking some windows. There was also a sound, described by the victim and witnesses, which sounded like a gunshot. Clem then yelled she was going to burn the house down and left. At the time of these incidents, there were two children inside the residence under the age of five.
After deputies arrived, Clem returned and again made a threat to burn the house down. While Clem was being taken into custody, she threatened to kill her granddaughter.
Clem is charged with felony counts of terroristic threatening and first degree criminal mischief and two misdemeanor counts of third degree endangering the welfare of a minor. Her bond has been set at $30,000.
