
Widespread damage is being reported across Baxter County Saturday morning according to OEM Director David Stults. A strong line of storms moved north of Midway towards Gamaliel with reports of strong winds, large hail and unconfirmed tornadic activity. The National Weather Service had confirmed a tornado across the state line into Bakersfield associated with the storm with Ozark County Sheriff Cass Martin reporting 3 fatalities early Saturday morning.
Stutls tells KTLO News the wind and hail where very strong Friday night as they moved into Gamaliel with damage north of the post office.

Several power poles where reported broken Friday night with utility crews on site to work to restore service in north eastern Baxter County. Stults states that calls have been light Saturday morning into the call center and there are currently no reports of blocked roadways in the County although he anticipates more calls to funnel in as daylight makes assessments possible.
