A former state representative for portions of north central Arkansas was among many affected Friday night’s storms as he resides on a farm nearly 10 miles outside of Cave City. Larry Goodwin, whose district included a part of Baxter County and all of Fulton County before the districts were changed, had his farm and equipment blown away by the strong winds from the tornado.
Goodwin says the road he lives on was mainly impassible after Friday night, but it didn’t take long for it to get cleared.

Goodwin’s daughter lives on the same road as her father. The former legislator the storm affected her residence as well.

Goodwin and his wife were able to drive into town later on Saturday to see how it looked. He says Cave City was completely devastated by the storms.

Goodwin says he’s amazed and thankful there were no fatalities in Sharp County from the storms. The National Weather Service says a storm survey team has located damage in Cave City consistent with winds of 165 miles-per-hour. That speed is reportedly at the top of the EF3 scale.
