The Izard County OEM Director, Gary Dickerson is reporting destroyed homes and impassible roads north of Melbourne Saturday morning with recovery efforts underway to clear debris.
Dickerson tells KTLO News that the hardest hit area is 9 miles north of Melbourne along Highway 9 and includes areas such as Larkin Road, Lacrosse Road and Sweet Home Road.

No casualties have been reported in the area but many structures have sustained heavy damage.

Crews hope to clear roadways by the end of the day but Director Dickerson stated that recovery could continue into Sunday morning as the damage is extensive.
