Heavy hit areas remain without power Monday morning

Utility crews have made much progress over the weekend restoring power area wide but heavy hit areas zones remain offline Monday morning.

North Arkansas Electric Coop (NAEC) CEO Mel Coleman had told KTLO News earlier in the weekend that some areas where so devastated that “there was nothing to build back to.” Crews have had the tough task of removing debris and completly rebuilding utilty infrastructure.

Coleman says the extent of the damage in Izard and Sharp Counties may take until the weekend to fix.

As of Monday morning NAEC is reporting a total of 1688 members without power. The breakdows for county is a follows, Sharp County with 987, Izard with 598, Stone with 79, Lawrence at 21, and Baxter with 3.

Entergy Arkansas reports 42 without power in Sharp County.
