North Arkansas Electric Cooperative has made a significant amount of progress in its efforts to restore power to members affected by Friday night’s storms, but there is more work needing to be completed. As of 4:50 Monday afternoon, the cooperative had 311 members without power in Izard County, 74 in Stone County and 903 in Sharp County.

NAEC Chief Executive Officer Mel Coleman says he’s grateful to everyone involved in cleaning up from the damage, but the cooperative is reaching the point where the restoration results may slow down.

When looking at the cooperative’s online map, most of the remaining outages are almost in a straight line. Coleman says that’s indicative of the path of the storms.
