After a powerful performance won the hearts of the judges, the Mountain Home High School Concert band took their 22nd Sweepstakes Award at the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association (ASBOA) Regional VI Concert Assessment held in Harrison on Saturday.
The Sweepstakes Award was given to the band after they received superior first division ratings from all three concert judges as well as a superior rating in sightreading. The Bomber Band has won this award every season since 2002.
Next, the Bomber Band will perform at the Southern Regional Music Education Festival at Arkansas Tech University on April 2. They will also compete to earn a State Super Sweepstakes Award at the ASBOA Class 6A State Contest on April 15 in Jonesboro.
