High winds lead to several power outages in Twin Lakes Area

The high winds rolling through the Twin Lakes Area Wednesday have led to local energy providers experiencing another increase in power outages. North Arkansas Electric Cooperative Chief Executive Officer Mel Coleman says they have had approximately 2,200 members without power.

Coleman says the majority of the cooperative’s outages are in Baxter County, but they’re spread out in other locations as well.

Just before 6 Wednesday evening, the cooperative was reporting 1,465 outages in Baxter County, 122 in Fulton County, 85 in Izard County, two in Stone County and 621 in Sharp County.

Entergy Arkansas had 232 outages in Baxter County, 75 in Marion County, 13 in Fulton County, 133 in Izard County, 31 in Searcy County, 323 in Stone County, 123 in Boone County, four in Newton County and 225 in Sharp County.
