An approximately 37 acre fire which started Monday evening near the intersection with Marion County Roads 6035 and 6040 and another fire which started Tuesday afternoon further down Road 6040 has been contained.
According to Marion County Office of Emergency Management Director Melissa Penn, the fire was contained around 10:30 Tuesday night and fire crews are monitoring the area for possible flare ups.
Penn says multiple area fire departments, the National Park Service from the Buffalo River and Arkansas Forestry Commission helped to contain the blaze.
