Marion County authorities are investigating a death following a fire Wednesday night.
Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander says the incident involved a structure fire reported at 5:56 at a residence on Marion County Road 7058 near Flippin. Fire crews arrived to find the home fully engulfed. Once the flames were extinguished, responders discovered the body of an unidentified person inside. The victim was turned over to the county coroner and will be sent to the state medical examiner for an autopsy and identification.The Flippin, Yellville, Fairview, and Cotter fire departments assisted at the scene.
The case remains under investigation. Sheriff Alexander says updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
