Mountain Home Mayor Hillrey Adams is coming off a week in which he assisted in two storm relief efforts. Adams went with a city crew last weekend to assist with cleaning up debris in Cave City, and a few days later, he delivered several goods to Bakersfield on behalf of his son’s business in Trumann.
Adams says the efforts began March 15 when he sent members of the Mountain Home Street Department to Cave City.
Listen:
Adams’ son owns a platinum trailer business in northeast Arkansas, and they had helped collect goods at Brookland School District. However, they were struggling to find a way to get the goods delivered to Bakersfield. The Mountain Home mayor met with his son Friday and delivered the goods on his behalf across the state line.
Listen:
Adams says neither community will probably never be the same after experiencing those storms. He says it also made him and the street crew reflect on what occurred last May in Baxter County and surrounding areas.
Listen:
The Mountain Home mayor goes on to say the communities were appreciative of everyone coming to assist with the relief efforts.
