The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) approved several regulation changes Thursday during its monthly meeting, including adjustments impacting Norfork Lake Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Baxter County.

The Commission voted to revise the harvest definitions for deer on Norfork Lake WMA, replacing the terms “legal buck” and “doe” with “antlered buck” and “antlerless deer.” This change aligns with updates at other WMAs across the state.

Additionally, Conway County was added to the Chronic Wasting Disease Management Zone, and the ban on using natural deer urine as an attractant was lifted.

AGFC also proposed three regulations for the upcoming waterfowl hunting season, which will be considered in April. These include reducing the 2025 teal hunting season to nine days, raising the northern pintail daily bag limit to three, and scheduling youth and veteran military waterfowl hunts for Feb. 7-8.
