The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) is making a push to let Arkansans know about the upcoming deadline to obtain a Real ID.

A Real ID will be required starting May 7 to board flights and enter federal buildings. Requirements for getting a Real ID include extra documentation such as proof of legal residence, proof of an Arkansas address and social security.

Scott Hardin, the Communications Director for the DFA, says regular IDs and driver’s licenses will still be valid for most needs after the deadline.
