The assessment deadline is right around the corner with the deadline falling on May 31.
Baxter County Assessor Jayme Johnson reminds residents to get their assets assessed before the deadline so they can avoid a penalty.

The assessment takes the value of an asset to calculate the amount of tax owed.

Johnson says vehicles which have previously been assessed will need to be assessed again, though usually a reassessed vehicle will be valued lower.
