Drivers crossing the Norfork Dam will need to exercise caution over the next few months as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) have begun a single lane closure to make space for routine maintenance.
The closure effects Highway 177 across the Dam and began last Wednesday and will last through late July. The duration of the closure may vary depending on weather and site conditions.
Traffic lights are present to assist with the flow of traffic, but motorists should plan for additional travel time.
The closure has been coordinated with emergency services and law enforcement agencies.
